StickYourNeckOut is a volunteer confederation of authors, artists and their friends who want to help make new work, by novices and experienced professionals alike, more widely known via this website.

Online since Mar. 1, 2001, we'll publish artistic and literary works on all subjects in almost any category—anything that is apt to be attractive to the web visitor and that evinces a love of the arts and language.

Provide novice and younger authors and artists, as well as old hands, a home for new works on the Web. Provide our guests with a provocative, literate destination they too can call 'home'.

A few years back, one of our feisty founders sought to contest some questionable spending decisions made by his township's school board. He purchased the domain name StickYourNeckOut, intending to set up a website to organize and galvanize the opposition.  For some reason the site remained unbuilt, the name unused.  Now, it's ours.

The StickYourNeckOut website is created for the personal enjoyment of our guests. We truly hope you enjoy your visit here.

StickYourNeckOut is determined to protect the privacy of visitors to our site, and of authors who publish here.

At present the only "data collection" we do is confined to three types:

• Authors' and artists' biographical and contact information (along with the texts of incidental e-mail exchanges) necessary to expedite submissions for publication on the site.
  
  
• (Optional) name/address information submitted by willing visitors on the Feedback/Newsletter Mailing List signup form on our Contact Us page.
  
  
• Aggregated statistics on visitorship provided us by our web host, generated from a standard 'server log' of such anonymous facts as visitors' browser type/version, screen resolution and domain-of-origin.
  
  

The latter (server logs) are widely used by webmasters and website designers to measure traffic and to aid in site design and marketing.  Server logs by design are incapable of finding or registering your personal data—your name, your computer "name", your e-mail address or other private data.

All private information we do collect, whether obtained incidentally or voluntarily through the Mailing List form, or by any other means—author and visitor names, addresses, e-mail addresses, texts viewed in advance of publication—will be kept in strict confidence.  Nothing will be shared, given away, sold or otherwise distributed without your express written consent.

StickYourNeckOut does not use "cookies" or any other hidden data-gathering, profiling or surveillance techniques.

Nor do we use or condone the use of "pop-up" or "pop-under" advertisements and similar intrusive methods of gaining the viewer's attention.
