A Puzzler
This
exercise does not measure your intelligence, your fluency with words or your mathematical ability. It will, however, give you some gauge
of your mental flexibility and creativity—and perhaps a chuckle or two
as you scratch your head for the elusive answers!
In the years since the exercise was
developed, it has been found that few people could solve more than half of the
24 problems on the first try. Many, however, reported getting answers long
after A Puzzler had been put aside, particularly at unsuspecting moments when
their minds were relaxed. And some reported solving all of the puzzles over a
period of several days.
