Sonnie and the Monkey
by Jack Davis
THE PRINCIPAL CAST
Sonnie
Born Alfred George Davis, Junior on September 1, 1921, aka Al, Sonnie, Dad and Gramps. Died on August 6, 1995. Seen herein just a
pile of his former self as for most of this story Sonnie hid out in a small white box. The face on the box (below) is not representative
of his normal good looks but is for effect. Sonnie was not a pretentious fellow and would have enjoyed the anonymity of plain
white. One might say that Sonnie's role in this adventure was somewhat passive, but this is not entirely true. His input came long
before, when he and his wife Althea did the deed that produced the ringleader and eventually the co-conspirators responsible for
this adventure.

The Monkey
A yard sale reject of questionable birth and lineage. Purchased for Sonnie's great-granddaughter Ashley. This beast
pushed himself into about every aspect of the trip and eventually had to be subdued by the long arm of the law. He was protective
of his charge, Sonnie, but got carried away most of the time.
