That One True Thing
by Terry L. Forney
Adrift in a world of esoteric thought
Expanding, imploding, beyond the logical line.
Wandering in the realm of insanity.
Eyes open wide in the sea of her life.
Searching, questioning beyond the logical line.
Wandering into the realm of insanity.
What she really wants to know
What she always tries to see
Is beyond the things they show
And love a rusty key.
What she's searching for
Is what she wants to believe
Is that somewhere there is hidden
That one true thing.
Is she lost or is she found
Or somewhere in between
In a world that is not hidden
But very rarely seen.
Soaring above the waters of infinity
Floating, diving, beyond the logical line
Wandering into the realm of insanity.
Seeing past a collective blindness
Touching, reaching beyond the logical line
Wandering into the realm of insanity.
What she really wants to know
What she always tries to see
Is her love should always be
Without a secret fee.
What she's searching for
Is what she wants to believe
That somewhere there exists
That one true thing.
Is she lost or is she found
Or somewhere in between
In a world that is not hidden
But very rarely seen.
