The Crime of Life

by Rob J. Spain

Scores of imaginary
Choices
Flood my mind.
Yet,
I have total knowledge of the only
Truth.
Simplicity is the key.
I cannot comprehend.
For some unfathomable reason I cannot deny
The extreme answer
Inside of me.
No I am
Caught
Intrigued
Deceived
Into loving that which is
Dying.
I only hope the pleas of my bleeding heart
Supersede the will of my
Temporary nature.

Perfection

by Rob J. Spain

I must be silent,
at least that's what she said,
before she laid her beautiful face
upon the makeshift pillow that my chest
provided.

I told her so many thoughts,
of mine,
that seemed to frolic
in my head.
I knew this is a feeling that I never
wanted to forget.

There is not any fear that this may come
to another tragic end,
because this time I have discovered a lover
and a friend.

Some say that we are all
destined
to find that soul that will perfectly
complement.
Others say that it's all nothing more than
a sheer coincidence.
Adopting the latter of the two
statements to me does not make an ounce
of sense.

As a matter of fact I am certain that nothing could
ever remotely convince
that what I feel burning so incredibly
immense is just a culmination of
random events.

"I love you"
are words that you will often hear
me express,
but even that cannot completely
encompass and profess.
It's such a feeble attempt at best
to describe passion when it's this
intense.

Long

by Rob J. Spain

I saw you looking at me
As I studied you
From the corner of my eye.
I know you felt heat
Of my stare,
Burning in your breasts.
I also saw that trophy
of a rock,
Resting on your left hand.
You represent the forbidden,
As do I.
Did it make beads of sweat
Gather on your brow
To know you can still attract?
Although you would opt
To deny,
I know you longed
For
The strange.
In the eyes of your mind
My hands were frantically
Exploring
Your silky body. Your passion boiling
Deep
In secret places.
Moist temptation
Deceives
Your loyalty.
Soon I will walk out of your sight.
Freeing you to remain
Comfortable.
But as I disappear
And you close your eyes,
Will you swear
You feel my lips
Lightly pressed
Upon your tender
Ear?

Ancient Remedy

by Rob J. Spain

Alas a feeling so ghostly to me.
Could what I sense in unused chasms,
be genuine?
The fear rises once again.
A cursed mask of security
Has developed decay
Throughout its many
uses.
A breath is taken assuredly
once again.
Close the lids of the confusion's
eyes.
Trust in that which seems to be
Unattainable.
Lost in vast beauty
it spans
endless.
The moon pulls the blanket of night
tucking in another day forever.
One more day that I was
not with you.

Wake Up!

by Rob J. Spain

It's the unexpected manifestations of kindness,
instigated by absolute selflessness,
that can transform the troubles of the most turbulent
of situations.
Even now as I sit here purposefully and determined;
I struggle to clearly convey the purity
of what needs to be said.
I write this envisioning many sets of eyes reading every single word.
But, it is my heart that longs to know valid substance can be
enlighteningly interpreted and understood.
A shift,
a change has to be collectively obtained.
Awareness,
beauty,
and generosity unconditionally can be the only goal
worthy to gain.
What would happen if everyone genuinely cared
for each and every man?
Free from judging or condemning,
superiority and inferiority would no longer have a leg
upon which to stand.
Could it be possible this option has been ours all along?
No need for war,
violence,
pestilence,
or anything of that sort.
Tell me when did the value of
LOVE
become such a trend?
