The Shining Stars of Monarch is a volunteer program that serves several hundred children orphaned by AIDS in the
hard-hit city of Francistown, Botswana. Fifteen adult volunteers provide meals, awareness training, tutoring, and other
services. Orphans aged 2-18 provide peer support to each other in this AIDS-ravaged city where HIV infection rates have risen to 50%.
